Katrina Kaif wants to turn producer; praises Anushka Sharma's achievements with Clean Slate Films

Off late, producing films has become as big a business as acting in Bollywood, with various actors running their own production houses. Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor — all these women produce film, apart from managing a full-fledged acting career.

The latest actor to express interest in production is Katrina Kaif. As per a DNA interview, the actress is considering foraying into the field of production soon.

Production houses are also giving actors the opportunity to star in films of their choice. Anushka and brother Karnesh Sharma's Clean Slate films has been consistently churning out refreshing, women-centric films — NH10, Phillauri and the upcoming horror flick Pari, which looks equally promising.

For Kaif, the prerequisite for opening a banner is having people one can put their trust in. She says she will need assistance with the logistical aspects of opening a production company, however, she is not rushing into things just yet.

On the kind of films she would like to make, she maintains she does not believe in categorising movies. "A film is a film and it connects with you or it doesn’t," says Kaif in the same DNA interview. The actress was last seen in Anurag Basu's adventure comedy Jagga Jasoos, alongside Ranbir Kapoor.

In the past, there were reports of the actress buying the rights to a French film. She clarified that she tried to buy the rights of He Loves Me...He Loves Me Not. However, things did not work out the way she would have wanted them to.
