Being a leading lady in cinema is no longer just about scripts and red carpets it’s also about strategy and enterprise. Today’s female stars are not only commanding screens but also boardrooms, earning the title of true actorprenuers. Seamlessly balancing their creative journeys with entrepreneurial ventures, they’re proving that ambition has no boundaries.
These actors are not just balancing film shoots with boardroom meetings they’re building legacies that extend far beyond cinema. Each brand is a reflection of their identity, proving that when passion meets purpose, stardom transforms into lasting impact. And this is what they have to say about their journey:
Katrina Kaif: Kay Beauty
The actress once said in an interview, “From early on, I found makeup fascinating! My relationship with makeup has always been one that encouraged self-expression for me. My makeup journey has gone hand in hand with my career as an actor being in the makeup chairs and watching the different looks that the incredible makeup artists would create for the character requirements.”
She added, “Kay Beauty started from my own journey with makeup of more than 20 years in front of the camera like being under harsh lights, different environments and working with some incredibly talented makeup artists. Those experiences taught me so much about what I needed from my makeup; what textures performed well, which pigments looked best. I wanted the products to be long wear but also breathable and lightweight on the skin.”
Deepika Padukone: 82°E
In an interview with Vogue, Deepika revealed, “I get why people might think it is just another celebrity or skincare brand. For me, 82°E is a way of combining the best Indian ingredients with global standards of skincare to give you a product that is as effective as having to use multiple products."
Bhumi Pednekar: Backbay
Bhumi told CNBC-TV18, “It is our own facility in Himachal. We have put up our own plant and we are very proud of it. And, our workforce is led by women because that’s just the kind of value system we wanted to inculcate within our brand. Our capacity is 45,000 boxes a day. We have a large capacity.”
