There's been a fair amount of excitement around Karthi's upcoming film Kaashmora ever since it was announced.
The Tamil epic fantasy film is believed to be split into two time periods — the present, and an ancient, mythical past.
Karthi's role in the present is supposed to be that of a good guy, but his character in the period sections — not so much.

In fact, from the first look of Kaashmora that Karthi shared on Twitter on Thursday morning (18 August), it is evident that Karthi plays a very bad man indeed — or at least a ruthless one.
The Kaashmora first look depicts Karthi in full warlord regalia, standing in the midst of a battlefield, exulting amid a sea of vanquished victims, most of whom seem to be dead.
Few details have been revealed about the project so far, but from what one of the producers, SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures, has told the Deccan Chronicle, it took over "seven months and 47 different get-ups (to come up with) three final looks" for Karthi.
Prabhu also told The Times of India that over 300 junior artistes were required to film the scene that has been depicted in the first look.
Prabhu refused to divulge what the other two looks for Karthi would be in Kaashmora.
The 'look' that has been unveiled, refers to Karthi's role in the historical section of the film as an army general. Nayanthara is cast opposite him in this section of the film, and plays a queen.
Sri Divya is the other leading lady in the film, which has been directed by Gokul.
The music for Kaashmora has been composed by Santhosh Narayanan, who recently scored some major chartbusters with his tracks for Kabali.
Karthi's previous two films, Komban and Thoza, were major hits so expectations from Kaashmora are very high.
