Kapil Sharma 'marries' Jacqueline Fernandez: What bizzare promotions can we expect next?

If you switch on the TV, chances are you'll see Jacqueline Fernandez either judging a reality show, or being a part of one.

Not that it's a problem, but that should give you an inkling of why on Wednesday evening, news of Kapil Sharma "marrying" Fernandez was doing the rounds.

According to reports, while promoting A Flying Jatt, Jacqueline attended The Kapil Sharma Show and they two ended up "marrying" on stage. Kapil even tweeted about it and got his mother to "bless" them:

Now, we know this is a comedy show, and we also know this is probably a publicity stunt. What we also know is that humour is subjective. However, we're trying to figure out how one of the most popular comedy shows of our time couldn't come up with something that is actually funny?

This is literally the TV version of click-bait.

Most Bollywood stars attend Kapil Sharma's show every week to promote their upcoming movies. Everyone from Salman Khan to Varun Dhawan are shown laughing hysterically and playing out sketches in the show. This, we can digest.

However, when it comes to a female actor, perhaps the only thing they could think of was a marriage. Why aren't we surprised?

And because Jacqueline was on the show to promote her upcoming film A Flying Jatt, we actually have suggestions on how this show could have retained its publicity for the film without resorting to dumb cliches.

A superhero costume episode. A Shaktiman redux. Getting Jacqueline and Tiger Shroff (who are both stellar dancers) to do a performance with the house members (who are, let's just say, funny), a combo episode with Jhalak Dikhla Jaa (which Jacqueline judges) and The Kapil Sharma Show — these are just a few ideas.

Kapil Sharma, are you listening?
