Kangana Ranaut, an actress and politician who has delivered several blockbusters, recently spoke about her successful Bollywood journey and said that she differs from other actors, comparing herself to Shah Rukh Khan in terms of her humble background.

“Why did I get so much success? There is probably nobody else who came from a village and got such success in the mainstream. You talk about Shah Rukh Khan. They are from Delhi, convent-educated. I was from a village that nobody would have even heard of – Bhamla,” Kangana said at an event in New Delhi last week while speaking about her roots.

“Maybe others may disagree, but I feel it’s because I am brutally honest, not just with people but with myself too,” she added.

Kangana Ranaut, who made her debut in 2006 with Gangster, went on to give several memorable films and bagged awards for her portrayals in Queen, Fashion, Manikarnika, Tanu Weds Manu Returns and others.

After her illustrious career of 18 years in showbiz, she turned politician and is currently the BJP MP. While Kangana is undoubtedly one of the finest actresses in the industry, she recently made a bold statement claiming that she ‘just hates being an actor’.

“No, acting is not daunting at all…. I think acting for me is too passive.… I just hate being an actor. I just hate it with so much intensity. That I can’t tell you because. You come to the set and you’re always looking ‘what’s happening? You know, What’s going on? Which scene are you doing? You are just always wondering, What’s going on?” she told IANS.

“And besides, You wonder, what’s going on with my life? What am I doing? You know, so much time is getting wasted. And, we all have such limited time. And these are the best years of my life. And then there’s the AD, who says ‘we are ready’ and when you’re ready. Then (they say) ‘wait, wait’… Even if you’re the main lead. You know, I hate it,” the Emergency actress added.
