Kangana Ranaut reveals she's been harassed multiple times on film sets: People had ego issues
Kangana Ranaut recently stated in an interview that she has been harassed on film sets by her actors often. Even though the incidents cannot be considered sexual in nature, the experiences were demotivating and intimidating.
Describing the manner in which she was sidelined, the actress says, “Making me wait on set for six hours, willingly giving me wrong call time to make me stand, always giving me the wrong set of dates so I’m missing out on opportunities and then cancelling the schedule last minute by these heroes." The actress further went on to say that there were times when she was not invited at film events, trailer launches of her films. Her lines were also dubbed without her knowledge.
Talking about the #MeToo movement which came into the industry last year, Ranaut stated that most people are quite scared now. She felt that the movement needs to gain enough momentum for the harassment to stop completely. The actress suggested that one way that could be achieved is if women stop questioning whether they will get work after they come out with allegations. Film sets and environments need to have strict rules, stated Kangana.
The actress' upcoming Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is set to release on 25 January.
