Filmmaker Pa Ranjith known for directing films like Kaala, Kabali and Sarpatta Parambarai has shared his thoughts on megastar Thalaivar Rajinikanth attending the Ram Temple consecration, which took place on 22nd January in Ayodhya. At the press conference of his production venture Blue Star, the filmmaker said, “We are at a stage where we would be considered as terrorists if we aren’t lighting camphor in our homes today. The country is moving towards a dangerous future, and I fear about the kind of India we will be living in in the next five to ten years.” When questioned about Rajinikanth attending the Ram Temple consecration, he replied, “It’s his personal choice to attend the event. He also mentioned that a 500-year-old problem has come to an end. But we need to question the politics behind that problem. My views on it are beyond whether it is just a simple right or wrong.”

At the Chennai airport, while coming from Ayodhya, Rajinikanth told reporters, “I had a great darshan. After the Ram temple was opened, I was among the first 150 people to witness (the Ram Lalla idol), and it gave me immense happiness… For me, this is spirituality and not politics. Everyone can have different opinions, and it doesn’t have to match every time.” The actor added, “It was a historic event and I am very fortunate. Will definitely come to Ayodhya every year.”
On the professional front, Rajinikanth recently delivered a blockbuster in the form of Jailer, which was directed by Nelson. He is now busy with his pan-India biggie Thalaivar 170. The film is directed by TJ Gnanavel. Thalaivar 170 marks the reunion of Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth after 32 long years. The duo previously worked in films like Hum, Andhaa Kaanoon, and Geraftaar. The film also features Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil and Rana Daggubati in prominent roles. Post Thalaivar 170, Rajinikanth will start working on his next project, which will be directed by Lokesh Kangaraj known for helming films like Leo, Kaithi, Master, Maangaram and Vikram.
