Jolly LLB 2 Day 7 box office collection: Rs 72 crore earned; but competition heats up on Friday
Subhash Kapoor's courtroom drama Jolly LLB 2 garnered over Rs 13 crore at the box office on its opening day. It went on to cross Rs 50 crores over the weekend. It managed to pass the Monday test too as its seven-day collection stands at Rs 72.68 crore.
Jolly LLB 2 is produced by Fox Star India and directed by Subhash Kapoor. It stars Akshay Kumar, Huma Qureshi, Annu Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Kumud Mishra and Manav Kaul. It is the sequel to the National Award-winning film, Subhash's 2013 film Jolly LLB.
When the film opened to a good box office collection, it sounded the death knell of the run of Rahul Dholakia's crime drama Raees and Sanjay Gupta's revenge saga Kaabil. These two films had enjoyed a smooth run at the box office since they released on 25 January.
The gangster comedy Coffee with D could not prove to be a formidable rival to them. Then came Jolly LLB 2.
#JollyLLB2 remains STRONG... Fri 13.20 cr, Sat 17.31 cr, Sun 19.95 cr, Mon 7.26 cr, Tue 9.07 cr, Wed 5.89 cr. Total: ₹ 72.68 cr. India biz.

However, Jolly LLB 2 may not enjoy an equally long stint at the box office as three more Hindi films release this Friday. These include Amit Roy's romantic comedy Running Shaadi, Sankalp Reddy's period war drama The Ghazi Attack and Aparnaa Singh's eco-thriller Irada.
With three more entertainers releasing this Friday, the box office run of Jolly LLB 2 will not go unchallenged. However, it may topple the other three contenders and still emerge as the higher grosser, owing to the star power that Kumar brings to the film.
Made on a modest budget of Rs 30 crore, the film is already a super hit as it has earned more than twice the cost it was made on. As the genres of Jolly LLB 2 and the other three films are quite distinct, they may enjoy their share of box office success, allowing Kumar to crack his fourth Rs 100 crore film in a row.
