John Abraham accuses KriArj Entertainment of defaulting on payment for Parmanu; Prernaa Arora counters claim

After terminating their contract with KriArj Entertainment, John Abraham’s production house announced that their film Parmanu - The Story of Pokhran will now get a new release date. Since then, both the companies have issued multiple statements, presenting contradicting sides to the story. Image from Twitter/@FlimGyan[/caption] Prernaa Arora or KriArj in an interview with DNA, says that she has already paid Rs 30 crore to JA Entertainment, out of which Rs 10 crore is Abraham’s demanded remuneration. She mentions that was was left to pay was an additional sum of Rs 5 crore out of which Rs 2 crore were going to part of Abraham’s remuneration. She admits that she did ask John for a discount of Rs 2 crore and even offered to pay after the final product was handed to her from the lab. However, according to her side of the story, Abraham did not cooperate and his company is now trying to evade a legally binding contract. She further adds that the full film was never delivered to her on time and now she is just stuck with a huge part of money lying with Abraham’s company. On the other hand, Abraham tells Mumbai Mirror that KriArj announced three separate release dates without informing JA Entertainment. He claims that he has self-funded the entire post-production and is still in the process of paying vendors who had a contract with KriArj. “They have defaulted on every payment, sometimes stopping payments when our boys were sent to the bank and giving wrong UTRs (Unique Transaction Reference),” he tells the publication. Abraham says that KriArj “has spread itself too thin” by perhaps over-committing. JA Entertainment had earlier accused KriArj of withholding information about the distribution plans and not making payments on time. The statement came a day after KriArj Entertainment said, “In response to the trade notice issued by John Abraham Entertainment claiming termination of their agreement with us for the film Parmanu…, please note that the said termination is illegal and invalid.”
