AFP image[/caption] According to a report in the Hindustan Times , Rabiya Khan is not satisfied with the probe carried out by Mumbai police, and intends on asking the High Court to approve a fresh investigation of the case. The FBI has reportedly replied to her request, saying that their help is conditional and only if agreed to by Indian authorities. “While FBI cannot conduct unilateral investigations outside the United States, it can review your daughter’s case in an advisory role if requested by Indian law enforcement,” a letter from the investigating agency was quoted as saying. But according to an Indian Express report, the CBI spokesperson in Delhi is unaware of any such letter. “At present, we are unaware of any such letter. However, we will be checking on the development if there is any,” they said. Police had last week filed a 447-page chargesheet in an Andheri court accusing Suraj of abetting Jiah’s suicide on the basis of evidence gathered during the investigation, which did not indicate it was a case of murder. Rabiya had moved the Bombay High Court in October, 2013 alleging that her daughter was murdered and sought a CBI probe. Following this, the court had asked police to record her statement on those lines, collect material given by her and probe the murder angle.
