Political satirist and comedian Jaspal Bhatti, who died on Thursday morning due to a car crash, has left us with a perfect swan song. His movie Power Cut is scheduled to hit theatres today,
Hindustan Times reported.
The movie is being seen by observers as a mark of the legacy of the man who left us with such popular hit shows as Ulta Pulta and Flop Show. [caption id=“attachment_503506” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]

But, that’s where the challenge lies. Extracting comedy out of a dry subject like power cuts,” Bhatti had said recently while promoting the film. Like always, Bhatti has given quirky names to his characters, such as Bijli (played by Surilie Gautam) and Current (played by Zafar Khan), Hindustan Times reported. The mortal remains of the famous comedian were consigned to flames at a cremation ground in Chandigarh on Thursday. Bhatti’s pyre was lit by his son Jasraj, who is making his debut in the film. Hundreds of mourners from diverse fields attended the cremation. These included politicians, leading celebrities of the Punjabi film and theatre industry and scores of Bhatti’s friends. Earlier, a large number of mourners reached his Sector 19 residence.
