Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor slammed the trolls after her video surfaced on the internet, where she is heard chanting the “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” slogan at Dahi Handi event during the Janmashtami celebration, and said there will always be an issue no matter what she does.
The video, which has been circulating on the internet, shows Kapoor at an event in Mumbai, as part of the promotion for her upcoming film “Param Sundari”.
In the video, the 28-year-old actor was heard saying the slogan, for which she has been trolled on social media. The event was held on Saturday in Mumbai.
The actress has now reacted to the trolls on her Instagram and captioned it- “Just for context, full video lol. Unke bolne ke baad nahi bolti toh problem, aur bolo toh bhi video ko kaat ke meme material (If I hadn’t said it after him, it would’ve been a problem, but now that I have, the video’s been cut and turned into meme material.)”
Kapoor further added,“Waise sirf Janmashtami ke din nahi, roz bolungi ‘Bharat Mata ki Jaiiiiii!’”(Not just on Janmashtami, I’ll say ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ every single day.)
Actress Pavithra Menon criticises Janhvi Kapoor’s casting
The actress said in a video, “I am Pavithra Menon; I am a Malayali, and I watched the trailer of Param Sundari, and this is what I think.”
She added, “Wait, what? Before we go further into the trailer, I want to address this: ‘What’s the problem in hiring a proper Malayali actor?’”
“This is not how it happens in Kerala. Like how I am talking in Hindi, I can also speak Malayalam really well.”
Janhvi was quoted saying, “Sundari is deeply personal to me. Her grace, quiet strength, and love for her roots resonate with my own South Indian heritage. Shooting in Kerala, surrounded by such beauty, I felt an emotional connection to her world that I hope the audience will feel too.”
