Jagga Jasoos release date out; could clash with Saif Ali Khan's Chef, Sridevi's Mom
Jagga Jasoos, which will have 29 songs, was delayed because some of its footage had to be re-shot.
Ranbir Kapoor announced the release date for his upcoming film Jagga Jasoos, where he stars opposite Katrina Kaif, at the Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year Awards 2017.
Bollywoodlife.com reports that Kapoor said his film will release on 14 July, 2017 and that the shoot of the film had finally wrapped up. When he was asked about Katrina, the actor said that Jagga Jasoos is as much her film as it is his. He also said that the duo have put their heart and soul into it. "We will promote it really well, and release it well too....When we make a film, we make it with lots of love and sincerity. We would like to put it across in the best way possible," he said to the media persons at the event.
Directed by Anurag Basu, the film has been in the production stage for about four years. Initially, it was slated to release on 4 April, 2017, but some footage of the film including songs had to be shot again, thus leading to a delay in the release. The film has a total of 29 songs. Ranbir expressed that this film is his first venture as a producer and that he hopes for its success.
Jagga Jasoos will see Kapoor and Kaif on screen together after seven years; the last film they did together was Rajneeti directed by Prakash Jha. It is a light-hearted musical spy film which also stars Adah Sharma, Sayani Gupta, Saswata Chatterjee, Saurabh Shukla, Denzil Smith and Karan Wahi.
The film will clash with Shraddha Kapoor's Haseena, Saif Ali Khan's Chef and Sridevi's Mom, which also release on the same day.
