'Ja jee le apni zindagi' DDLJ fans: Film's 1000 week run at Mumbai's Maratha Mandir ends

For all Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge fans today was the end of an era. After a successful 1009 week run (over 19 years) in Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir theatre in south Mumbai, the iconic Bollywood film was screened for the last time on Thursday morning. The film starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol released on 19 October, 1995 and completed 1000 weeks on 12 December, 2014 at Maratha Mandir. Given its popularity, with the morning shows still running housefull on weekends, it is still the end of an era. And even as the news broke, Twitter was full of reactions from fans:

Was lucky enough to watch DDLJ show at Maratha Mandir. Would have never left the theatre knowing its gonna end.
