It's official: Kareena to star with Sonam Kapoor in 'Veeray Di Shaadi'

Kareena Kapoor may still rock the occasional Mera naam hai Mary hai but it seems she is clear that she wants to do roles with more substance. After playing a career-oriented woman in Ki & Ka and a doctor battling the drug menace in Udta Punjab, she is now in talks to star in a female-centric film with Sonam Kapoor, according to DNA. Reuters[/caption] The film is Rhea Kapoor’s maiden directorial venture and is tentatively titled Veeray Di Shaadi. Sonam of course was the expected choice for one of the roles. DNA has now confirmed with Kareena that the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actress is seriously thinking about the film. Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania are also part of the film that sees four female friends embark on a road trip. DNA had earlier reported that the film had been discussed with Katrina Kaif but she refused it because she wasn’t comfortable with speaking Hindi the way a Delhi girl does and the women in the film are from Delhi. That’s when Sonam’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo co-star Swara stepped in. After we saw three men go on a road trip in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, it’d be interesting to see how Rhea plans to showcase the friendship among four women on the road.
