Is Aamir Khan forcing his society members to sell their flats?

A 87-year-old woman Pamela de Sa and her daughter Geneve de Sa, 50, accused actor Aamir Khan of forcing them to sell their flats so that he can construct a bungalow in their society at Pali Hill, Mumbai. [caption id=“attachment_1443247” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] AFP[/caption] According to a recent Indian Express report, Pamela de Sa and her daughter approached the deputy registrar of co-operative societies last week complaining that the managing committee of their housing society, Virgo Co-operative Housing Society, is pushing them on behalf of Aamir Khan to sell their flats so that Khan can construct a bungalow in that plot. Reportedly, Khan wants to purchase 60 percent of the flats in their residency and is ‘forcibly dis-housing the existing members of the society and compelling them to search new premises’. Khan who already owns three flats in that society first expressed interest in buying the plot in 2011. Pamela de Sa owns two flats and her daughter owns two garages in the society. A spokesperson for Khan told Indian Express , “Mr Khan has indeed sent an offer to his society after the society requested him to make an offer. We assume that the society will assess all offers received, and members will then decide on how to proceed, which is the normal process.” Read the full report here
