Comedy is an art and Ranveer Allahbadia needs to understand that. It is podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia’s crass remarks on ‘India’s Got Latent’ which landed the entire show in trouble.
Ranveer Allahbadia is a classic case when success came to him very easily. His double standards were exposed in the show. He got everything on a platter very easily in life. Not going into his struggles with alcoholism and drugs during his early college days, but he definitely doesn’t deserve to be a model for the young generation. He should learn to articulate and make his points with precision instead of making cheap comments which he might think it to be cool.
His own podcasts too where he invites people is more about pleasing the celebrities by not asking any uncomfortable questions. His approach to the interviews are pretty shallow. He sure has a huge audience for this too and what can you say especially in an age when everything is bought.
Going back to his question on India’s Got Latent show, my point too like Bharti Singh is that nobody forced him to ask the filth that he did. It was his choice. It his filthy mind that came out in the show and he asked one of the contestants, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?” That was disgusting joke and I don’t even understand what made him say that.
What he asked is definitely not bold entertainment, he has crossed the line. He needs to know no one is indispensable and that he can be replaced overnight.
