India's Got Latent controversy: Bharti Singh, Aly Goni, Kashish Kapoor, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor defend Samay Raina-Ranveer Allahbadia: 'If you don't like the language he uses...'

Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent landed in legal trouble and garnered severe criticism after Ranveer Allahbadia’s distasteful joke from the last episode went viral on social media.

While netizens, celebs, politicians and public figures have slammed the show and people associated with it, TV stars have come out in support of Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia .

Bharti Singh

Comedian Bharti Singh, who attended India’s Got Latent, said that the show is like that, “but it is not required for you to go to the show and tell them what they need. It is your decision, whether you say it or not. Samay does not say, “Hey, open your mouth.” He is a very brilliant and very sweet boy. He is liked by GenZs. If you go there yourself, you will become his fan. He is so good.”

Talking about Samay’s nasty language, she said, “If you don’t like the language he uses, millions of people watch it. We are among those who have seen Samay Raina’s video.”

Aly Goni

The popular TV star showed his support to Samay on X (previously known as Twitter) and wrote, “They forced Samay to delete all the episodes of Latent.. not cool.. that 1 episode should have been deleted that’s it.. He has worked hard to make this show successful.. where everyone was praising him few days back now everyone is against him lol kya yaar."

Alia Bhatt’s BFF, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor

Taking to her Instagram story, Akansha wrote, “Guys I think I’m losing my mind.. so marital rape is ok? Any and all rape is ok? Killing us with hazardous air quality is fine. People literally falling into potholes and dying is fine. Pay inequality / bribery/caste system/taxes that are killing the middle class is all MAST! But apne moral standing par koi kaise dhabba dal sakta hai?"

Kashish Kapoor

The Bigg Boss 18 fame personality said in a video, “Beer Biceps yaani Ranveer ne jo joke maara tha, that was not even an original. Aise weird questions internet pe chalte aa rahe hain. I do understand ki India, however, vaisi country nahi hai. Toh yahan pe hume bohot careful hona padta hai with what content you put out."

She added, “Toh uss context main, the consumers have all the right to criticise Ranveer, Apoorva or Samay. But what is the level of that criticism? When does criticism become blatant hate and you jump on that bandwagon to hate those people, simply because they have done something we don’t like?"

Kashish mentioned, “I agree woh jokes bad taste main the and hum usko condemn kar sakte hain, criticise kar sakte hain. But it wasn’t a crime ki unke khilaf FIR ho jaaye. That’s just too much. Do we really think ki aaj ke time main Samay ka show aur Ranveer ka comment humare desh ki sabse badi issue hai?"

“Tum irony dekho, people are criticising Apoorva ki tune gaali di by giving her more gaalis in the comment section. What sense does that make? This is Koffee With Karan Hardik Pandya’s episode all over again. There is a limit to criticism. After that, it just becomes hate. I would tell you ki yeh witch hunt chhod do," she concluded.
