Indian film industry mourns the death of Nageswara Rao

Hyderabad:  Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) passed away Wednesday and celebrities like Madhur Bhandarkar and S.S. Rajamouli remember him as “the doyen” and “towering father figure” of Telugu cinema. Nageswara Rao was 89. Here’s what the film fraternity has to say: Madhur Bhandarkar: (I’m) sad to hear the demise of the doyen of Telugu cinema Akkineni Nageswara Rao. The stalwart of memorable performances will be missed. R.I.P S.S. Rajamouli: Saddened by the news of the legendary Nageswara Rao garu. He stood as a towering father figure for the Telugu film industry. Irreparable loss.
