Imran Khan confirms relationship with Lekha Washington, says 'I had been separated from Avantika and...'

Imran Khan, after 8 years of his acting hiatus, started making headlines last year for his speculated comeback and engaging social media posts. The actor also caught everyone’s attention in 2019 after he separated from his ex-wife Avantika Malik. Now, the actor has seemingly moved on as he is dating actor Lekha Washington. During a recent interaction with Vogue India, he confirmed his relationship with Lekha and also opened up about his divorce from ex-wife.

Imran Khan , during the interaction, said that he finds the narrative around Lekha being a “homewrecker” infuriating. He said, “The speculation that I’m romantically involved with Lekha Washington is true. I’m divorced and have been separated since February 2019.” Recalling the time when he grew close to Lekha, the actor added, “Lekha and I grew close during the lockdown, a year and a half after I had been separated from Avantika and almost a year after she had separated from her partner, not husband, as it has been widely reported.”

Moving further, the Katti Batti actor also addressed the rumours around calling them misogynistic. He noted, “There’s this narrative of Lekha being a homewrecker, which infuriates me, because not only is it misogynistic but it also takes away my agency as an individual.”

For those uninitiated, Lekha Washington is a popular artist who has worked as an actor in Telugu films. Imran Khan, on the other hand, maintained distance from the limelight after his 2015 released film Katti Batti. The romantic drama featured Imran along with Kangana Ranaut who played his love interest in the film.

Since last year, there has been a renewed interest in the actor. Speculations are rife that the actor is all set to make a comeback in the movies. However, no official announcement has been made yet. A few media reports surfaced last year suggested that Imran Khan could be collaborating with his Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na director Abbas Tyrewala for his acting comeback project.
