I was at Taj, but not for Saif-Kareena wedding: Ratan Tata

The throngs of shutterbugs outside the Taj Mahal palace waiting to catch a glimpse of the celebrities entering and leaving Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s wedding, were stunned to see the usually reclusive Ratan Tata there as well. It may have gone unnoticed on any other night, but with the who’s who of Bollywood stepping out of their cars, the shutterbugs outside Taj barely stopped blinking! So, when Ratan Tata got out of his car, the media quickly assumed that he was there to attend the wedding reception of the stars as well. [caption id=“attachment_495323” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Ratan380.jpg "Ratan380") Sachin Gokhale/Firstpost[/caption] What followed was a number of media outlets carrying Tata’s photograph along with the celebs who attended the reception. Several publications, including Firstpost went on to report that Ratan Tata attended the reception party of Saif-Kareena. However, a day after all the tamasha, Tata has now said that he never went for the wedding! The eminent industrialist took to Twitter to say that although he was at the Taj Mahal Palace at the night of Saif-Kareena’s reception, he was there to attend a personal dinner and not the wedding itself. Apart from the clarification Ratan Tata also wished Saif and Kareena well for their wedding. Tata wrote on his Twitter page “Media reports of my presence at the Saif-Kareena wedding. While I wish the couple the very best reports of my being present at the wedding are untrue! I was present at the Taj for a private dinner and the media has assumed that I was there for the wedding! Sometimes the media does get it wrong!!” https://twitter.com/RNTata2000/status/258798756949020672
