Hum Paanch, a popular show from the 90s is set to make a return to television with a third season, which will be titled 'Hum Paanch Phir Se'.

Times of India reports that it will not be produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms, which was responsible for producing the first two seasons. Now, the makers of Dance India Dance and Maharakshak Devi have come on board.

"We will retain all the intrinsic elements and the format, but will give it a modern spin. The production house is in the process of finalising the cast, which will comprise new faces," said the source speaking to Times of India.

Hum Paanch was a sit-com which aired its first season in 1994 and ran until 1999, and its second season in 2005, which ran till 2006. Ashok Saraf, Shoma Anand and Priya Tendulkar were part of season one as Anand and Bina Mathur and Anand's first wife respectively, and they reprised their roles in the second season. Vidya Balan was also part of season one, and she essayed the role of Radhika Mathur, replacing Amita Nangia.

Hum Paanch centered on the life of a middle class family, where the father always finds himself in trouble because of his five daughters — Meenakshi, Radhika, Sweety, Kajal, and Chhoti.
