Hrithik Roshan appeared as the first celebrity guest of the dance reality show Nach Baliye 8 on its third episode. The actor was only scheduled to do a segment to promote the world television premiere of his blockbuster, Sanjay Gupta's revenge drama Kaabil. However, owing to his love for dance, he went on to stay for the major part of the episode.

The Indian Express reports that the actor entered in style, shaking a leg on the romantic number 'Dil Kya Kare' from Kaabil. Later in the show, after participants Divyanaka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya performed on 'Saree Ke Fall Sa' from Prabhu Deva's 2013 action comedy R...Rajkumar, Roshan joined one of the judges and fellow actor Sonakshi Sinha on the stage as the two did an impromptu dance on the same song which originally featured Sinha in the film.

The two actors followed the act by mutual words of appreciation. Hrithik confessed that he has watched every film of Sinha since her debut film, Abhinav Kashyap's 2010 action comedy Dabangg. DNA quotes him as saying, "“Sonakshi is one of the great dancers in the industry, her songs are amazing. I’ve watched all her movies, she acts gracefully and is herself in all her characters. I really look up to her and learn a lot from her. I usually never take an autograph from anyone. But today I want an exclusive autograph from her for being an inspiration in terms of acting and dancing.”

Sinha returned the favour when she confessed that she had a huge crush on Hrithik after his debut film, Rakesh Roshan's 2000 romantic thriller Kaho Na... Pyar Hai. She said that while she was never starstruck by any celebrity being an industry kid, she often sent her house help to the Roshans' residence to fetch Hrithik's autograph, but to no avail.
