On being asked whether he regrets having met Kangana Ranaut, he says, "I do not have any regrets in my life." He again points out that this situation is not a lovers' spat and he has no intention of making this a media trial because "there's no applause at the end of this."

During his earlier interviews with other media houses, his body language was meticulously studied by some. Many alleged that the actor pauses before thinking and therefore, his conversations seem practiced. He clarifies, in this interview, saying that he pauses and speaks because that's the way he has taught himself to communicate.

He says he was never friends with Ranaut. However, he does not deny giving her professional advice when she solicited it. Maintaining the same old stance of having never met Ranaut before in a personal capacity, he says there are other co-stars he has never met one on one too, despite working with them.

Denying having replied to a single email sent to him by the actress, he says he was busy building his life after his separation with Sussanne Khan.

Elaborating on how this row has affected him as a person, he says, "This is not my laundry, these clothes have been dumped upon me. I am bystander to this whole thing."
