Hollywood star Brad Pitt’s mother Jane Pitt has passed away at the age of 84. Born on August 13, 1940, in Memphis, Tennessee, Jane married William Alvin Bill Pitt in 1962 and raised three children, Brad, Doug, and Julie.

The actor’s niece Sydney shared a note on her unfortunate passing and wrote- “My sweet Grammy, we were not ready for you to go yet but knowing you are finally free to sing, dance, and paint again makes it a tad easier. She could keep up with all 14 of us grandkids without missing a beat. There was no limit to the love she gave, and everyone who met her felt it. I don’t know how we move forward without her.”

The actor recalled his Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meeting and was quoted saying, “I needed rebooting. I needed to wake the fuck up in some areas.”

Pitt added, “I was pretty much on my back, on my knees. I was really open to… I was trying anything that anyone threw at me. It was a particularly difficult time.”

“Everyone was so open, it gave me permission in a way to go, ‘OK, I’m going to step out on this edge and see what happens,” revealed the actor.

He added, “Then I just really grew to love it.” The experience, Pitt added, stood in stark contrast to his upbringing in Missouri’s Ozarks, where emotional suppression was the norm and “everything’s great.”

Brad Pitt opened up about whether the finalisation of his divorce from Angelina Jolie in late 2024 fetched him peace. He said, “No, I don’t think it was that major of a thing. Just something coming to fruition. Legally.” The Babel star added, “It’s been in the news for 30 years, bro. Or some version of my personal life, let’s put it that way.”
