Priyadarshan, the veteran director who has made films in multiple languages, is gearing up for as many as three films. The first one is Bhooth Bangla with Akshay Kumar, and then two more films with the same actor- Hera Pheri 3 and Haiwaan.
The filmmaker was speaking to Pinkvilla and in the interview, he spilled the beans on his career and working with other stars like Govinda, Salman Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan.
Priyadarshan said, “When I got my Padma Shri, a journalist asked me, ‘Don’t you think this is your greatest achievement?’ I said, ‘No, my biggest achievement is working with and Salman (Khan) on time and finishing it in one or two schedules.’ There was a fear brought into my mind by other people that they don’t come on time. But both of them were very sweet. They came on set at 7 am. I remember Salman telling me, ‘Garu, if you make a film (with me) next time, I won’t come to set at 5 am."
The filmmaker added, “Shah Rukh Khan said he would come on the sets by 10 am. So, the unit would say even if he comes by 10, it’s a big thing. I was very comfortable with all these people. I never had any issues with all these actors I’ve worked with. I think it’s maybe my destiny. It worked for me, which is why I could do so many films in these many years.”
Paresh Rawal ’s comeback to Hera Pheri 3 has delighted the fans of the franchise, as his sudden exit from the Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty starrer created controversy on social media.
His exit grabbed several eyeballs with speculations like creative differences to monetary issues. Akshay Kumar, one of the leads and co-producer, had decided to sue Rawal for Rs 25 crore for sabotaging the project.
Priyadarshan, who helmed the original Hera Pheri of 2000, will direct the third part. The filmmaker recently opened up about the surprising events, which brough Rawal back and shared that he apologised to him for his earlier exit.
