The official announcement of Hera Pheri 3 cheered all cinegoers as they were excited to see the iconic characters of Raju (Akshay Kumar), Shyam (Suniel Shetty) and Baburao (Paresh Rawal) on the big screen. However, the sudden exit of the latter shocked and disappointed everyone.
Rawal has now revealed in an interview he’s back on board. The actor revealed, “There’s no controversy. I believe that when people have loved something so much, then you have to be extra careful. It is our responsibility toward the audience.”
He added, ”The audience has given you so much adulation. You can’t take things for granted. Mehnat karke unko (film) do.”
Rawal continued, “Pehle bhi aane hi waali thi but it’s just that we had to fine-tune ourselves (laughs). After all, all of them are creative, be it Priyadarshan, Akshay or Suniel. They are friends for many, many, many years.”
A report by Pinkvilla has now revealed how producer Sajid Nadiadwala made personal efforts to bring Rawal back on board for part three.
Hera Pheri producer Firoz Nadiadwala revealed, “With love, respect, and kind guidance of my brother Sajid Nadiadwala, and also Mr. Ahmed Khan, Hera Pheri family is back together. My brother, Sajid put in a lot of personal time and efforts, over several days to resolve the matter. We have a bond of over 50 years.”
The filmmaker added, “Ahmed too put in a lot of personal efforts. So it is with the love and guidance of Sajid and Ahmed, that everything is now productive and positive. We also have Akshay ji’s support. We both have shared a very good bond since 1996. He was very kind, loving, and affectionate in the entire process of sorting the issues.”
Priyadarshan, who was supposed to direct _Hera Pheri 3_ , revealed that Akshay Kumar had tears in his eyes when he came to know about Paresh Rawal’s exit.
The copyright issue
In an interview with Mid-day, the director also revealed, “Akshay bought the entire rights of the Hera Pheri franchise for Rs 10 crore from Firoz Nadiadwala, who had produced the first two [parts]. This is not just for Hera Pheri 3 but the entire franchise. I know this as I have seen the paperwork for it.”
