Hate Story 3 shows how unsuccessful stars think stripping is synonymous with stardom

It’s a  steroidal battle out there. Four bodies, with no soul and minimal minds bobbing up and down to sinewy beats that suggest a deep connection between sex and singing. YouTube.[/caption] The entertainment  industry is filled with horror stories of exploitation and desperation.False promises of stardom are made to eager young boys and girls by jaded cunning sleazeballs who promises the sky tostrugglers in exchange for sex.When these wannabe stars realize they are being….errrr…taken for a ride, they get bitter and libelous. It’s as  dangerous a world out there for strugglers as it  is for ostensible star-makers who are playing a role they cannot justify. Stars, you see, are made in  heaven, not on casting couches. It’s with some such thoughts that I watched the promotional campaigns of Hate Story 3 with growing horror,  as four unsuccessful actors, one of them a brilliant performer, trying to sell themselves to the public as newly-revamped sex symbols. Zareen Khan  and Daisy Shah , both made their promising debut opposite Salman Khan. But nothing happened to their careers after Veer and Jai Ho,respectively.Rather than take the hint and move on, they chose to stick on in movies.Now they are up there on the big screen shaking their booties for those who care for that sort of a thing. The saddest part of being a voyeur’s teasing delight is not the emotional and spiritual indignity of selling your body for attention. It’s selling it to an audience that no longer gets turned by the flashing of the flesh. Worse still, all the slithering sighs, thundering thighs,  moans, groans, ‘f…k yous’ and ‘you goddamnedb.tch’es are going to be snipped off  by the censors. And rightly so, Hate Story  3 is the most obnoxious and puerile projection of pseudo-porn  seen in recent times in Bollywood. It represents a movement in a direction  opposite to Sunny Leone. She abandoned porn and is attempting to gain Bollywood sanction(how successfully , is another story). These actors in _Hate 3_are seen making  extremely clumsy attempts to get sanctioned as skin peddlers. There is no beauty or grace in their movements; no skill at projecting simulated intimacy is evident in any of their gestures. Sorry to say,Zareen Khan , Daisy Shah, Karan Singh Grover and Sharman Joshi are just faceless bodies , the kind the seeker would readily find willing to do a lot more on any porn site. Specially sad is the case of Sharma Joshi,a fine actor who effortlessly stole the show from Aamir Khan inVinod Chopra’s 3 Idiots. It was the worst career move Joshi could have ever made.The effortless upstaging made him an immediate threat to the ruling superstars. Sharman had to be banished. After struggling through a string of inane films , the last being the insufferable Rekha vehicle Super Nani, Sharman in order to stop his career from doing a Harman(Baweja)  has been forced to re-invent himself as a ‘hot’ poster boy . Sharman gave ‘bold’ interviews before the release of Hate Story 3 declaring he was willing to be seen in the buff,  if need be. Sorry, Sharman. No mainstream Indian film will take you up on that offer. Voyeuristic aspirations inBollywood extend only to women’s cleavages. So no birthday suit for Sharman. But happy birthday, anyway.
