Haseena Parkar: Crew alleges producer of Shraddha Kapoor-starrer didn't settle dues
Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Haseena Parkar, based on the underworld kingpin Dawood Ibrahim's sister Haseena, didn't impress the masses or critics. Reviewers slammed the film, for being too "bland" and "dull" for an intense subject like Mumbai underworld. The cash registers stopped ringing within the first days of the film's release. To add to the woes for the makers, now the members of crew allege that the producer hasn't settled their dues.
According to a report by Mumbai Mirror, many members of the crew of Haseena Parkar have come out and complained against the film's producer Furquan Khan (of Swiss Entertainment) of not settling their dues, even after a month of the film's release.
"The producer owes me around Rs 15 lakh. I approached the writers’ association and they called for a hearing twice, but on both occasions one or the other party was not in town. I did the film only because Apoorva is a friend, I don’t know these producers," says Suresh Nair, story and screenplay writer of the film, reports Mirror.
A similar concern was raised by the dialogue writer of the film, Chintan Gandhi who has only received Rs 1 lakh of his dues amounting to Rs 7 lakh.
Some members associated to the film — Sunil Nigvekar, production designer of the film and Nabeel Abbas, publicity designer of Epigram Advertising — agreed that dues are pending, but they are still waiting as Khan had promised them that all the dues would be cleared around Diwali.
Meanwhile, when Mirror got in touch with Khan he completely rubbished all such allegations and said, "Get me one name (of those accusing him of delaying payment). All of them charged extra money and cheated me. I will take the legal route if they play with our reputation."
However, there has been no word regarding this development from the director of the film, Apoorv Lakhia.
