Guardians of the Galaxy 2: Sylvester Stallone and Michael Rosenbaum confirmed as cast members
Director James Gunn revealed that Stallone and Rosenbaum will have important roles in Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
It has been confirmed that Rocky Balboa star Sylvester Stallone and Michael Rosenbaum will be part of the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Their roles, however, have not been revealed.
In a podcast interview on the Aman Corrolla show, director James Gunn said, "We do have a couple of characters who are very important to the Marvel Universe who are going to make their debut in Guardians Vol. 2, which people don’t know about. Sylvester Stallone plays one of these characters."
He has also mentioned this casting decision in a tweet.

Gunn also divulged the name of another cast member who was not part of the first film — Michael Rosenbaum. Calling Rosenbaum his friend, he said that he too has "a pretty decent role" and that it works in tandem with Stallone's character.
Stallone was last seen in Creed in 2015, opposite Michael B. Jordan. Michael Rosenbaum plays the lead in the show Impastor and his last film was Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, which released in 2015. Speculative theories suggest that both actors will be part of the Nova Corps in their upcoming film.
Apart from the latest additions Stallone and Rosenbaum, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 also stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper and Michael Rooker. It is scheduled to release on 5 May, 2017.
