Kanye West was just pranking best album winner Beck , when he walked up on stage to try and steal Beck’s award for Beyonce, well you’re wrong. Kanye was actually and truly angry about Beck winning the award and later ranted about
it to E!. Here’s what happened at the Grammys: Beck won album of the year for Morning Phase, beating out expected victor Beyonce. It was 2009 all over again. The year that Taylor Swift beat Beyonce at MTV’s Video Music Awards in 2009 and Kanye got involved. 2015 saw West briefly pop on stage beside Beck, who appeared to be looking around for help. West smiled and quickly jumped down, but not before getting guffaws from Beyonce and Jay Z. AFP[/caption] While everyone was laughing at Kanye’s little prank, later on West told E! that he was actually really angry about Beck winning the award and said the Canadian-artist should have given up the award to Beyonce. According to
Gawker, Kanye said, “The Grammys, if they want real artists to come back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain’t gonna play with them no more. Flawless, Beyoncé video, and Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyoncé. And at this point, we tired of it because what happens is, when you keep on diminishing art, and not respecting the craft, and smacking people in the face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you’re disrespectful to inspiration.” He also spoke about how he had a wife, daughter and clothing line and couldn’t say much to put them at risk but said “y’all know what it meant when ‘Ye walks on that stage.” Well, we all do now. While Kanye went on a rant, wife Kim Kardashian just smiled awkwardly, probably making a mental note that the next time she shouldn’t stand next to her husband when he gave such interviews.
