Bollywood actors Govinda and Shilpa Shetty have been accused of defaming Bihar and asked to testify in a court in Pakur, Jharkhand on 18 October, according to News18.
The News18 report states that the duo have been accused of defaming Bihar and Uttar Pradesh over the lyrics of the song 'Ek Chumma Tu Mujhko Udhaar De De' that appeared in the film Chote Sarkar in 1996.
A local lawyer had filed a case of defamation against the two actors when Jharkhand was a part of Bihar (Jharkhand, in 2000, became a separate state), adds Pradesh18.
A non-bailable warrant was also issued against director Vimal Kumar, singers Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik, songwriter Anand Milind and music composer Rani Malik on 5 May, 2001, according to Pradesh18.
The lyrics in question read 'Ek chumma tu mujhko udhar de de, badle mein UP Bihar lele (Lend me a kiss, and in return take UP Bihar) '. The song was reportedly a big hit in the 90s.
