The Gossip Guy is back and how! Renil Abraham brought to you 100 episodes of fun, gossip, moments and opinions in the first season of Gossip Guy. Now, with renewed vigour, he is back with the second season.
In the season premier, Renil introduces us to the two gossipy highlights of the week. Firstly, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor’s tooth and nail response to the trollers mocking Taimur Ali Khan, the name of the newborn son of his niece Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan. The second highlight sees a picture from fashion designer Manish Malhotra’s birthday party in which he referred to actor Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli as a ‘couple.’ ahem ahem!
The gossips are followed by opinions as people from all quarters in Mumbai comment on The Humma Song from Shaad Ali’s romantic comedy Ok Jaanu. While the song was trolled on social media for killing the magic of the original one from Mani Ratnam’s 1995 romantic drama Bombay, what do the cine lovers on the street had to say? Renil also hosts a directors’ round table conference, discussing censorship and the process of direction with five of the top filmmakers of this year, Shoojit Sircar who produced the courtroom drama Pink, Ram Madhvani who directed the biopic Neerja, Nitya Mehra whose debut film Baar Baar Dekho tanked at the box office, Ashwini Iyer who impressed the audience with her debut film Nil Battey Sannata and Sujoy Ghosh who made the suspense thriller Kahaani 2.
The show wraps up after an exclusive chat with actor Jacqueline Feranandez who discusses with Renil her fascination towards the blue-eyed internet sensation, the tea seller from Pakistan, and her action-packed entertainer Reloaded that is scheduled to release on 25 August, 2017. She will share the screen space with Siddharth Malhotra for the first time in the film which is directed by Raj & D.K..
