Dick Cheney’s daughter Liz has responded to
Christian Bale comparing her father to Satan in his acceptance speech for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy Golden Globe award. In his speech, Bale thanked director Adam McKay for casting him to play someone who was “absolutely charisma-free and reviled by everybody”. He joked that from here on out, he will be “cornering the market” on playing “charisma-free a**holes,” adding, “What do you think, Mitch McConnell (politician) next?” “Thank you to Satan for giving me inspiration on how to play this role,” he also said. Twitter[/caption] While the audience at the award ceremony clapped and laughed at Bale’s comment, the former US vice-president’s daughter took offence to it. She tweeted an article from 2008 about Bale’s arrest for allegedly assaulting his mother and sister. “Satan probably inspired him to do this too,” she wrote.

BBC writes that though the actor was arrested and questioned over claims that he had lashed out at his family at a hotel in London, he was never charged due to insufficient evidence.
