Sony Pictures is developing the next installment in the Ghostbusters franchise and have finalised Jason Reitman as the director, reports Variety. Jason’s father Ivan had helmed the first two Ghostbusters films. Jason has even developed and co-written the screenplay along with Gil Kenan. The shoot for the feature may begin in summer 2019 with Sony Pictures planning a summer 2020 release. There is, however, no confirmation on whether the original cast members will be brought back on screen as the precise story details are being kept under wraps. There are reports that Reitman has begun auditioning teenagers for four mystery roles in his upcoming feature. Montecito Pictures is backing the project.
