Shekhar Kapur and AR Rahman have finally launched their media start up called Qyuki. The venture was announced last year and is a platform where people can showcase their creativity. Qyuki, which means ‘because’ in Hindi is a social media site where people can showcase their talent in the form of video, audio, images and text. The editorial broad of the site will review the works and each good piece will be awarded with badge/badges depending upon its quality and popularity. The site is also suppose to be a bridge between professionals and creative individuals. While one can view the site, they are suppose to sign up in order to post their works and comment. “I think to trigger the imagination is the most important thing and I hope with Qyuki we are able to achieve that,” said renowned music composer AR Rahman at the launch. " I am constantly encouraging people, that it doesn’t matter that you are not an artist, but you have the ability to create art. You don’t need to be a photographer to click a picture, you don’t need to be a professional story writer to write a short story, you don’t need to be a great poet to create poetry. At Qyuki we are provoking that part of you that you have the need to express, that is your creativity. And what we are saying to you is that you don’t need to be a professional, you just need to be expressive. And that need is an inherent need, so don’t deny it. Just come out, express, share, interact and be creative", he said. While talking about the media platform Shekar added that Qyuki is a community of creative creations.
