Gadar - Ek Prem Katha director Anil Sharma, is all set to launch his son Utkarsh Sharma in the film Genius. The first look poster of the film has been released on social media.

Box office analyst, Taran Adarsh on Monday announced the same on Twitter with the caption, "First look poster of #Gadar director Anil Sharma's new movie #Genius... Stars Anil's son Utkarsh Sharma in the lead role... 24 Aug 2018 release."

Utkarsh had previously essayed the role of Sunny Deol's son, Jeete, in Gadar. Having completed his professional training in direction and production from a university in the US, he is back in India all set to make his debut in Bollywood.

"My son was there as Jeete in Gadar. He had gone to America for a four-year course in direction and production. Now he is ready to display his skills," Anil Sharma told HT earlier.

Along with Utkarsh, Genius will also be the launchpad for another newcomer, actress Ishita Chauhan. Anil Sharma announced the actress's debut opposite his son last month on Twitter.

Genius is a science fiction film which reportedly also features Ayesha Jhulka, Mithun Chakraborty and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in supporting roles.

The film is slated to release on 24 August.
