It's official! This April is going to be a memorable one to say the least. Ahead of the season premiere of True Detective, HBO dropped a teaser trailer for Game of Thrones' final season. The clip also announced the premiere date for Season 8, which is set to return on 14 April.

In the one-minute 44-second teaser released on Sunday, Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) reunite in their family’s crypt at Winterfell. As they walk past the statues of their deceased family members (including Ned, Catelyn and Lyanna), they hear their haunting voices. The trio finally reach the end of the dark corridor where they are confronted by their very own statues. Suddenly, Jon's candle blows out and an icy mist rolls into the crypt as Jon and Arya draw their swords...
What does it mean? Will the Stark clan completely perish at the hands of the White Walkers? Is this an actual clip from Season 8 or just a promotional teaser?
We'll know more when Game of Thrones premieres on 14 April.
The fantasy series based on the George R.R. Martin novels has been one of HBO’s most successful shows. And HBO isn’t getting out of the Game of Thrones business just yet. A prequel created by Martin and writer-producer Jane Goldman is underway, with Naomi Watts set to star, and other spinoffs are possible.
