With the seventh season approaching this July, the speculation around Game of Thrones — the world’s most popular show, as Time magazine puts it — is overwhelming. So much so that conjectures about the eighth and final season are already going viral. [caption id=“attachment_3406506” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Game of Thrones. Image via Twitter[/caption] At a fan convention at Nashville, known as Con of Thrones, Paula Fairfield, the sound designer of the epic show alluded that the show creators — David Benioff and DB Weiss — might come up with all six feature-length episodes in the show’s final season, reports PTI. It was already known that the upcoming Season 7 of Game of Thrones will have longer episodes than the usual ones. Firstpost, in a previous report , had suggested that despite having only seven episodes, in lieu of usual 10 episodes per season, the duration of each episode will be made slightly longer. It was previously confirmed that season 7 will contain the series’ longest episode to date, which is currently coming in at nearly an hour-and-a-half. Now, it seems the show is following similar pattern in the final season as well. The episode count has been truncated to six and the episode duration is also likely to be extended, furthers PTI’s report. Fairfield also said that while most episodes in Season 7 will usually stick to around 59 minutes, the finale season might up the ante with movie-long episodes which might cross even 80 minutes, as per a report by Vanity Fair. The seventh season of Game of Thrones is slated to be telecast on 16 July.
In a fan convention, it was revealed that Game of Thrones: Season 8 might have feature-length episodes. The final season will also have only 6 episodes instead of the usual 10.
