Game of Thrones season 7: HBO reveals names of first three episodes, partial synopses

While audiences around the globe have already begun the countdown to the seventh season of Game of Thrones, which begins airing on 16 July this year, HBO has increased the excitement levels even further. The studio revealed the names of the first three episodes of the new season, along with some details about them in snippets. [caption id=“attachment_3406494” align=“alignnone” width=“825”] ![The lead actors of Game of Thrones have a heft pay-cheque for each episode of season eight](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/game-of-thrones-cast-825.jpg) The lead actors of Game of Thrones have a heft pay-cheque for each episode of season eight[/caption] The names, despite being short and common knowledge to G0T fans, are cryptic and make you wonder what it will be about. Who is going to make an appearance? Who will betray? Who will reunite? And, worst and most dangerous of all, who will die? After all, as Cersei puts it -“When you play the game of thrones, either you win or you die”. According to Entertainment Weekly’s report, these are the first three episodes and synopses of season 7: [Spoilers ahead] - Dragonstone - Episode #61 To be premiered on: 16 July Directed by: Jeremy Podeswa Written by: David Benioff & D. B. Weiss Synopsis: Jon (Kit Harington) organizes the defense of the North. Cersei (Lena Headey) tries to even the odds. Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) comes home. - Stormborn - Episode #62 To be premiered on: 23 July Directed by: Mark Mylod Written by: Bryan Cogman Synopsis: Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) receives an unexpected visitor. Jon (Kit Harington) faces a revolt. Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) plans the conquest of Westeros. - The Queen’s Justice - Episode #63 To be premiered on: 30 July Directed by: Mark Mylod Written by: David Benioff & D. B. Weiss Synopsis: Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) holds court. Cersei (Lena Headey) returns a gift. Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) learns from his mistakes. Going by the previous seasons, especially the last season (Season 6), the initial three episodes seem to revolve mainly around Daenerys Targaryen who has (or rather, will) set her foot on her homeland, Westeros. Season 6’s last episode featured Daenerys along with her army in numerous ships, with her dragons hovering overhead, approaching Westeros. And with ‘Dragonstone’, ‘Stormborn’ and ‘The Queen’s Justice’ being the episode titles, it just goes without saying that the Mother of Dragons will have a lot to do in the upcoming season. HBO shared pictures of Daenerys kneeling on a shore and her army approaching Dragonstone, her rightful home. She is also going to meet an unexpected visitor. But who will be that? Is it going to be Jorah Mormont, who was exiled to find a cure for his greyscale disease? Or perhaps, will it be somebody from Westeros? Tyrion Lannister, the newly-appointed Hand of the Queen, by Daenerys side will make her foothold stronger in claiming her rightful throne. In the previous season, Jon Snow was chosen as the King in the North, as he reunited with his sister Sansa Stark and took over Winterfell, defeating the Boltons after the fierce battle. Now, he along with his banners are getting ready for the real war, against the White Walkers. But then there is a huge cold tension developing between Jon and Sansa over claim on the throne. This is being fumed by Littlefinger; and owing to his reputation, he has already caused a lot of menace. At the same time in the previous season, Cersei avenged her humiliation by blowing up an entire part of citadel, killing the entire Tyrell family along with the High Sparrow and his followers, following which her son and king Tommen committed suicide and hence she was crowned as the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. Since then, she has become highly insecure; she will definitely be busy plotting, planning and even executing, just to ensure her position. Jaime, her sibling and lover, seems to feel the madness within his sister and he may seek redemption this time. After all, there has been a change of heart within Kingslayer, ever since he has returned in Westeros. Anyway, there can be numerous possibilities around the storyline of this epic show, but the real adventure begins when the show begins on 16 July.
