Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 4 preview: The Spoils of War could see Dany hit back

If Game of Thrones season 7 episode 3 — The Queen’s Justice — left you a little unsatisfied regarding the fate of your favourite characters, then HBO has in all its kindness put out a preview for episode 4 that seems to tilt the scales back somewhat.

Titled ‘The Spoils of War’, it begins with Cersei contemplating the spoils of her wars.

Having conquered Highgarden, Cersei is no longer desperate for gold. She can now — as befits a Lannister — pay off her debts to the Iron Bank of Braavos, which has been breathing down her neck in the form of ~Mycroft Holmes~ Tycho Nestoris.

Jaime and Bron are in charge of getting Highgarden’s gold to safe quarters — but what are the chances that somebody else (namely, Dany) will get to it first?

She’s just about desperate enough, having — as she tells Jon and Tyrion — lost all her allies. Enough with the clever plans!’ she thunders, leading us to believe that her dragons are going to stop their pleasure flights around Dragonstone and venture into battle instead.

Meanwhile, Theon — now safely out of the sea — is leading a small contingent of men somewhere. Since HBO’s benevolence doesn’t extend to letting us have a really long and detailed look at what’s in store, this is about all we can tell.

Oh, and Sansa’s reading a book and looking very determined. What that will translate into, we can only guess.
