Sanya Malhotra is riding high on a rare and remarkable achievement, three of her films which are Jawan, Kathal, and Sam Bahadur, have all bagged top honours at the 71st National Film Awards. For the actor, the moment is both overwhelming and deeply affirming.
Sanya Malhotra said, “You know when I found out that all three were being honored with National Awards I had to take a moment. It’s rare, and I don’t take it for granted at all. It really makes me reflect on how important it is to trust your gut. As an actor, you don’t always know how a project will be received, you just go by what moves you, what excites you. And this has just reaffirmed that instinct for me in the most beautiful way.”
In 2025, the actress has three titles out of which Mrs has already streamed on Zee5, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari will come out in cinemas on October 2 and then there’s Toasters with Rajkummar Rao on Netflix. This is as diverse as it can get for a fine actor like Malhotra who has already done films like Jawan, Dangal, Ludo, and Pataakhaa so far in her career.
Recently at the trailer launch, her co-star Varun Dhawan went on to praise Sanya Malhotra wholeheartedly, saying: “I want to work lots more more more with her and I think she’s someone who’s just like a national talent. Very few of these come through and she’s one of them. She’s just amazing. Thank you.”
The National Award wins
The wins span across categories, ‘ Kathal ’ clinched the award for Best Hindi Feature Film, Shah Rukh Khan was honoured with Best Actor for Jawan, and Sam Bahadur walked away with multiple honours including Best Feature Film Promoting National, Social, and Environmental Values, Best Makeup, and Best Costume Design.
