From Katrina Kaif to Rashmika Mandanna: Celebs who have become victims of deepfake

While AI technology has turned out to be a massive game-changer across the globe in a positive manner, its misuse has been garnering the headlines in recent times. A few days back, actress Rashmika Mandanna’s face was morphed with an influencer named Zara Patel, which created outrage on social media with many celebs including Amitabh Bachchan, Naga Chaitanya Akkineni and others coming out in her support.

The Animal actress shared a statement on her official social media account stating that ‘Something like this is honestly, extremely scary’.

Similarly, Katrina Kaif’s edited images from Tiger 3 surfaced online, raising our concerns regarding the deepfake.

Before Katrina and Rashmika, several Hollywood biggies became victims of deepfakes and raised their points on social media among the netizens. Scarlett Johannson, one of the highest-paid actresses in the West, tackled challenges when her face was morphed into adult films. Despite going the legal way, the actress expressed her concern due to the vastness of the content. Actress Kristen Bell known for Frozen also became a victim of deepfake manipulation when her face was used for inappropriate content on the internet. The actress shared a statement that revealed that her face was used on someone else’s body without her consent. Prominent stars like Tom Hanks, Robert Pattinson & Morgan Freeman also have been victims of deepfake.
