In the past, we have seen many actors like Govinda, Sunny Deol, Hema Malini, Jaya Bachchan, and others entering politics and doing great work for the people. In the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, many celebs are making their poll debut and are expected to win audiences’ hearts and votes.
Kangana Ranaut
In its fifth list of candidates for Lok Sabha polls 2024, the Bharatiya Janata Party said the four-time National Award winner will contest on a ticket for the party from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi constituency, her birthplace.
The actress took to micro-blogging site X and wrote, “My beloved Bharat and Bhartiya Janta’s own party, Bharatiya Janta party ( BJP) has always had my unconditional support, today the national leadership of BJP has announced me as their Loksabha candidate from my birth place Himachal Pradesh, Mandi (constituency) I abide by the high command’s decision on contesting Loksabha polls. I feel honoured and elated to officially join the party. I look forward to be a worthy karyakarta and a reliable public servant. Thanks.”
Arun Govil
Besides Ranaut, Ramayan star Arun Govil has been fielded by the BJP from the Meerut Lok Sabha seat in the upcoming polls. Recently, Govil and singer Anuradha Paudwal joined the BJP. For the unversed, Arun Govil became a household name for his portrayal of Lord Rama in Ramanand Sagar’s epic serial Ramayan.
Neha Sharma
Actress Neha Sharma’s father, Ajit Sharma, who is Congress MLA from Bihar’s Bhagalpur, said if his party gets to contest from the seat after discussions on Mahagatbandhan seat-sharing, her daughter might get the ticket from the constituency.
“Congress should get Bhagalpur constituency as it is our stronghold, talks on seat sharing arrangement is on. If we get this seat, it is up to the party’s high command to take a call on who can contest, if the party asks me, I will contest or maybe my daughter Neha Sharma might contest from this constituency. We will have to wait and see,” MLA Ajit Sharma said.
