Actor Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan got married to her longtime boyfriend and fiance Nupur Shikhare in an intimate ceremony on Wednesday, 3 January 2024. They registered their marriage in the presence of close friends and family members in a very unique manner. It was followed by a grand reception in the evening. Several videos and pictures from the wedding ceremony are also going viral on the internet. The groom , who ditched the traditional wedding attire and opted for a black vest and white shorts, got the internet talking. Ira, on the other hand, opted for a white dress as they registered their marriage. A video, showing the duo taking their wedding vows in a celebratory mood, is also making rounds on the internet. While Ira begins by saying, “I take Nupur Shikhare as my lawful husband,” the latter spoke on the same lines and said, “I, Nupur Shikhare, take Ira Khan as my lawful wife,” thus prompting a wave of loud cheers and claps.
If reports are to be believed, the couple has also planned a grand wedding in Udaipur, following which a reception will be held in Mumbai. Stars and celebrities from across the industry are expected to attend the reception. While the first video shows the groom, a fitness enthusiast, jogging around 8 kilometres and reaching the venue, later he was seen dancing his heart out in front of the venue with the baraat. All this while, Nupur was dressed in a black ganji and shorts. The bride’s father, actor Aamir Khan also warmly welcomed his son-in-law. A very happy father, Aamir obliged the guests while welcoming everyone to the wedding. He also posed for the paps. Not just Aamir, but his ex-wives Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao also took part in the celebrations and gave their blessings. Before this, glimpses of the pre-wedding festivities also went viral. Ira and Nupur met in 2020 and have been close to each other ever since.
