FP exclusive! Minissha Lamba walks out of Mumbai airport

Bollywood actor Minissha Lamba is going to remember her first trip to Cannes trip for a very long time. After pirouetting on the red carpet at the fest, she returned to Mumbai in the red, as far as the customs airport officials go. The actress was detained at the airport for not having declared jewellery worth Rs 50 lakh in her possession. The petite actor was carrying diamond studded semi-precious stone and assorted jewellery. “Minissha was supposed to obtain an export certificate from the Customs department while she was leaving the country. Since she had not followed the procedure, she was detained for not declaring the valuables,” a Customs officer said. According to the officer, Minissha told them that the valuables were not hers, but were given to her by Anmol Jewellers for promotional purposes at the festival. Even as the customs officers contemplated an arrest, fortunately for Minissha, the necessary papers from Anmol Jewellers arrived just in time to save her from further embarrassment. The actress later walked out of the airport. .daylife_smartgalleries_container p { width: 100%; height: 100%; margin: 0; padding: 0; border: 0; background: transparent; }
