Forget Taylor Swift, watch a stoned Woody Harrelson nail 'Blank Space' at SNL
If you can't stop tripping over Taylor Swift's new song, Blank Space from her album 1989, here's a new version of it, sung by a very stoned Woody Harrelson and this one is even better than the original. Watch the video below:
Harrelson parodied Swift's song at Saturday Night Live (SNL) and in keeping with the theme of Swift's album, he recounted all important events of 1989. For those of you who aren't in the know, Taylor Swift's new album 1989, is a tribute to the 80's. The songs are influenced by 80's music. The songstress has named the album after the year in which she was born.
Harrelson, who is an active supporter of legalization of marijuana, merrily sang, "... I got a blank space baby, ’cause I used to do cocaine". However, despite that blank space due to cocaine, he could recall that the Berlin wall fell that year, Cher's album Turn Back Time came out and gave a big shout out to Cheers, the tv show in which he played a character named Woody Boyd in the year 1989.
Harrelson was the host of the evening and for his guests Hunger Games co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson, who told him that they weren't even born in 1989, so they couldn't recall anything and Jennifer Lawrence, who very characteristically fumbled up a line and then dutifully reminded Harrelson about his emphasis on "not thinking too much".
While we don't know if Swift liked the video or not, it sure is doing well. The video already has more than 1.4 million views and is trending on social media. Harrelson, Lawrence, Hemsworth as well as Hutcherson are all part of the film The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 which will hit the theatres this weekend, and with this video trending, it seems to be a great publicity for the film.
