Flop films haven't affected my career: Kangana Ranaut

Mumbai: Acknowledging that she has made it on her own in Bollywood, actress Kangana Ranuat says a few flop films do not have much of an impact on her career. Kangana, who hails from a small town of Himachal Pradesh, is known for her performances in ‘Gangster’, ‘Fashion’, ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbai’, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, ‘Shootout at Wadala’ and has also won a National award. However, her few films like ‘Kites’, ‘No Problem’, ‘Double Dhamaal’ ‘Rascals’ and others did not do well. We are independent women who run their own houses and it is not necessary that you can always get the kind of work you want to do. So sitting ideal and jobless at home is not the option. These films may not have done great but they could have done worse also,” Kangana said in an interview here. “By doing these films you get out of your problems and the makers also get to work with you, so it is a win-win situation for everyone. Films like ‘Double Dhamaal’, ‘Rascals’ don’t badly affect your career, it has not affected my career till now, it could have been worse. So I have only gratitude for films like these,” she said. The actress says if these films would not have come her way, she might have ended up doing an item number in a regional film. After achieving success in Bollywood on her own, even her family is reacting quite positively to her work today. “My sister likes me in films like ‘Queen’, my brother likes me in science fiction space and my parents like to see me doing more conventional stuff like ‘Rajjo’ etc,” she said. Her upcoming films ‘Queen’, ‘Rajjo’ and ‘Revolver Rani’ seem to be women centric. In ‘Queen’ she plays a naive girl from Delhi, she essays the role of a nautch girl in ‘Rajjo’ and is a dacoit-cum-politician in ‘Revolver Rani’. PTI
