Fighter: How Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone's film crashed on Monday by collecting only Rs 8 crore

Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter has finally hit theatres and is impressing audiences and critics alike across the country. Directed by Siddharth Anand. While the film has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in just 5 days, however, it has also witnessed a significant dip on its first Monday i.e., 29 January.

Fighter opened at Rs 22.5 crore at the domestic box office on its first day, the numbers further increased over the weekend as it earned Rs 39.5 crore, Rs 27.5 crore, and Rs 29 crore on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday respectively.  

However, the film witnessed a fall in its numbers by around 70 per cent as it collected only Rs 8 crore on Monday. According to a Sacnilk report, the numbers show the film recording its lowest single-day earnings so far.

Fighter witnesses major drop in comparison to War and Pathaan

Similarly, Fighter’s dip in box office numbers has also surpassed the numbers recorded by Siddharth Anand’s previous two releases, War and Pathaan.

War, which was the last collaboration between Hrithik Roshan and Siddharth Anand on its first Monday saw a drop of 42 per cent and collected around Rs 21.50 crores. Pathaan on the other hand, recorded a drop of nearly 56 per cent and collected Rs 26.50 crore. However, both the films did significant business on their respective first Sundays.

Notably, while Fighter stands at Rs 129.59 crore after five days of its release, it still remains hundreds of crores away from Pathaan and even War. War fetched more than Rs 166 crore just in its five-day opening weekend in India and Pathaan stood at Rs 280.75 crore after its five-day opening weekend.

At a time when Fighter has recorded a major drop in comparison to Siddharth Anand’s previous releases, it still has chances for revival as no big films are lined up for the upcoming week.
