A new poster for Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan is out and it will definitely blow your mind… though maybe not in a good way. This poster has Khan in his 25-year-old avatar, Gaurav. [caption id=“attachment_2497840” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Fan poster. Image: YRF[/caption] For those of you who have been living under a rock, the 50-year-old Khan has two roles in the Yash Raj Films’ movie. He plays a superstar called Aryan Khanna and an ordinary guy called Gaurav, who happens to be Khanna’s biggest fan. (Hence, the title of the film.) The new poster is designed as a selfie that Gaurav has taken of himself in a room filled with photos of Khanna. Diehard fans will recognise theh photos from Khan’s own career and media coverage from his various award functions. If that feeling of deja vu was not eerie enough, we have to deal with the prosthetics used to make Khan look 25. In no way does Gaurav resemble Khan when he was 25-years-old and while the resemblance may not be necessary for the story, the lack of it brings with it a sense of shock. Khan’s Gaurav look is weird, to say the least. Perhaps it is intentional; after all we don’t really know any other aspect of Gaurav’s character. And anything is possible in an YRF-SRK movie. Whatever the case may be, we prefer the real-life 50-year-old Khan, with his hot physique and cool attitude. Or even the 25-year-old Shah Rukh of the ’90s, with his floppy hair and a persona bursting with energy. Even the 30-year-old Major Ram Bakshi in Main Hoon Na was truly endearing. Gaurav? Well, we’ll just have to wait and watch till April 2016 to see if he is worth falling in love with.
